In order to permanently remove hair, the hair follicle must be treated while it is in a certain growth phase of its cycle – this is where the hair is attached to its bulb.

Each of our hair follicles will be in a different part of its growth cycle at any one which is why multiple sessions, spaced 4/6 weeks apart are necessary in order to ensure the hair has been targeted at the correct time during its cycle.

It is important to understand that each person is different and the number of sessions required varies from person to person, this is based on a number of factors to take in to consideration;

• The thickness of the hair being treated
• The area being treated (facial hair can take longer to treat)
• How consistent you are with your sessions
• Your natural hair growth cycle

As a rough guide, we recommend 8 sessions for body hair and a minimum of 12 sessions for facial hair. Please understand that this is only a guide.

Each session should be carried out every 4 – 6 weeks and it is important to adhere to this to obtain your desired results.

Laser hair removal is generally well-tolerated, and most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain.

The feeling is often likened to the snap of a rubber band against the skin. However, pain thresholds vary from person to person, and it can also depend on the area being treated.

You’ll be pleased to know that our advanced laser technology is designed to minimise discomfort.

Laser hair removal is not suitable for white or very light blonde hair.

Please do not shave prior to your patch test. It is important that we note the current condition of the hair and its growth.

• Do not wax, pluck, use depilatory creams or undertake any electrolysis for 4 weeks prior to treatment and in-between your treatments.
• Do not use prescription strength exfoliant creams ( Retin-A and alpha hydroxy acids) for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
• Please shave the night before or subsequent treatments
• Avoid tanning, including self tanning lotions, tanning bed/booths or sun exposure for 4 weeks prior to and in between treatments.
• A sunscreen should be applied on any sun-exposed skin in which you plan to treat.

Avoid sun exposure for at least 2 weeks after treatment to avoid risk of hyperpigmentation.

Avoid heat treatments such as spas, steam rooms and saunas for 7 days

Avoid excessive scrubbing or applying pressure to the skin for 4 – 5 days. This is to allow the treated skin to recover and prevent any infection.

Avoid shaving the treated area for 72 hours after treatment

Avoid exercising for at least 48 hours

Avoid hot baths and hot showers for 48 hours

Avoid swimming for 48 hours

Avoid make up on the treated are for at least 48 hours

Avoid the application of perfumed products or bleaching creams for 48 hours

Avoid scratching the treatment area if blistering or crusting occurs as this can cause scarring

Avoid waxing and tweezing for the complete duration of the course of treatment.
